What is CVE-2024-42898?

A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in Nagios XI 2024R1.1.4, allowing attackers to inject and execute arbitrary web scripts or HTML. This vulnerability can be exploited by crafting a malicious payload injected into the Name parameter on the Account Settings page. Successful exploitation may lead to session hijacking, defacement of the website, or redirection to malicious sites, posing a significant risk to users and organization security.
