SSRF and Command Injection Vulnerabilities in Zimbra Collaboration
CVE-2024-45518
What is CVE-2024-45518?
A vulnerability in the Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) affects versions 10.1.x prior to 10.1.1, 10.0.x prior to 10.0.9, 9.0.0 prior to Patch 41, and 8.8.15 prior to Patch 46. This flaw enables authenticated users to exploit Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) due to inadequate input sanitization and incorrectly configured domain whitelisting. The SSRF can be used to initiate unauthorized HTTP requests to internal services, potentially leading to Remote Code Execution (RCE) when combined with existing command injection vulnerabilities. This vulnerability can be particularly dangerous when leveraged alongside existing Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities, greatly increasing the risk and severity of an attack.
