Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Umbraco CMS by Umbraco HQ
CVE-2024-47819
What is CVE-2024-47819?
Umbraco CMS encounters a significant cross-site scripting vulnerability in versions 14.0.0 and prior to 14.3.1 and 15.0.0. This vulnerability allows an attacker to exploit the system by injecting malicious scripts that can be executed in the context of an authorized user. If successfully executed, the attacker may gain access to privileged endpoints, including the ability to elevate user privileges or access protected content. Users are encouraged to upgrade to versions 14.3.1 or 15.0.0, which contain the necessary patch. In the meantime, restricting access to the Dictionary section to only trusted users can serve as a temporary workaround.
