What is CVE-2024-5245?
A security vulnerability has been identified in the NETGEAR ProSAFE Network Management System that allows local attackers to escalate privileges. Exploitation requires that an attacker already possesses the ability to execute low-privileged code within the system. This flaw is rooted in the use of default MySQL credentials during the product installation process, enabling malicious individuals to leverage this weakness to gain unauthorized access and execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM-level permissions.
