What is CVE-2024-52594?

The Gomatrixserverlib library, used for matrix federation, is susceptible to a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability. Under certain conditions, this flaw may allow an attacker to serve content from a private network that the library can access, potentially leading to data leaks or unauthorized access. To mitigate the risks associated with this vulnerability, users are strongly advised to upgrade to the latest version of Gomatrixserverlib, which contains a fix in commit c4f1e01. For those unable to upgrade immediately, implementing local firewall rules to restrict network segments and hosts accessed by Gomatrixserverlib is recommended.
