What is CVE-2024-54780?

The OpenVPN widget in Netgate pfSense CE and Plus builds prior to version 2.8.0 beta contains a command injection flaw due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied input within the OpenVPN management interface. An authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability by crafting malicious input through the remipp parameter, allowing them to execute arbitrary OpenVPN management commands, potentially compromising the security of the system.
