What is CVE-2024-56525?
In the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) products OJS, OMP, and OPS, a vulnerability exists that allows an XXE attack executed by a user with the Journal Editor role. This vulnerability permits the creation of a new super admin role within the journal context and allows for the injection of a backdoor plugin through the upload of specially crafted XML documents as a User XML Plugin. This presents significant security risks, as it can lead to unauthorized access and potential compromise of sensitive data.
