What is CVE-2024-58382?

Versions of league/commonmark prior to 2.6.0 are susceptible to vulnerabilities that lead to denial of service through inefficient Markdown parsing. This vulnerability can be exploited by attackers who submit maliciously crafted Markdown inputs, designed to provoke extreme performance degradation. By orchestrating multiple simultaneous requests, attackers can exhaust CPU resources and PHP-FPM worker processes, ultimately disrupting service availability.
