Stack-based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability in Trimble SketchUp
CVE-2024-7509
7.8HIGH
What is CVE-2024-7509?
A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the parsing of SKP (SketchUp) files within Trimble SketchUp. This flaw is due to inadequate validation of user-supplied data, leading to a potential stack-based buffer overflow. An attacker could exploit this issue by coaxing a user into opening a specially crafted SKP file or visiting a malicious webpage that initiates the file parsing process. Successful exploitation may enable the attacker to execute arbitrary code within the context of the affected application, posing significant risks to network security and data integrity.
