What is CVE-2024-7973?

A heap buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the PDFium component of Google Chrome prior to version 128.0.6613.84. This vulnerability could allow a remote attacker to execute an out of bounds memory read through specially crafted PDF files. If exploited, this flaw may compromise the integrity of systems running affected versions of Google Chrome, providing unauthorized access to sensitive data or system resources.
