What is CVE-2024-8060?

OpenWebUI version 0.3.0 is susceptible to a path traversal vulnerability due to inadequate validation on the audio API endpoint /audio/api/v1/transcriptions. This weakness permits users with authentication to upload arbitrary files by manipulating the file.content_type and exploiting user-controlled filenames. As a consequence, an attacker can overwrite essential files within the Docker container, which may lead to unauthorized remote code execution with root privileges.
