What is CVE-2025-12147?

In Search Guard FLX versions 3.1.1 and earlier, Field-Level Security (FLS) rules are not adequately enforced on object-valued fields. While FLS exclusion rules remove objects from the _source during search operations, the child attributes of these objects remain exposed and accessible to search queries. This vulnerability can enable attackers to deduce or reconstruct original data from excluded objects, posing a significant security risk. It is advised that users applying FLS exclusion rules for object attributes implement additional exclusion rules for the object members to mitigate this issue.
