What is CVE-2025-1272?

The lockdown mode in Fedora Linux for kernel versions 6.12 and newer is improperly disabled, exposing the system to significant security risks. This flaw enables potential attackers to access sensitive system information, such as kernel memory mappings, I/O ports, and BPF and kprobes, without any alerts. Moreover, it facilitates the loading of unsigned modules, allowing for the execution of untrusted code and undermining any existing Secure Boot protections. This vulnerability specifically impacts Fedora Linux, emphasizing the need for immediate remediation.
