What is CVE-2025-12840?
This vulnerability exists in the way OpenEXR parses EXR files, stemming from inadequate validation of the length of user-supplied data. Attackers can exploit this flaw by tricking users into visiting a malicious webpage or opening a compromised EXR file, leading to arbitrary code execution within the context of the affected process.
