What is CVE-2025-14759?

The Amazon S3 Encryption Client for .NET, an open-source library enabling encryption for records stored in S3, is affected by a security flaw. This vulnerability arises from a missing cryptographic key commitment, which could allow a user with write access to an S3 bucket to manipulate encrypted data keys. Specifically, if the encrypted data key is stored in an 'instruction file' rather than S3's metadata, it could decrypt to incorrect plaintext. To protect sensitive data, users are advised to upgrade to version 3.2.0 or later.
