What is CVE-2025-14760?

The AWS SDK for C++ contains a vulnerability that arises from a missing commitment to cryptographic keys. This shortcoming permits a user with write access to an S3 bucket to generate an encrypted data key (EDK) that could decrypt to a different plaintext than intended. This issue is particularly significant when the encrypted data key is stored in an 'instruction file' rather than securely in S3's metadata. To secure your data, it is crucial to upgrade to AWS SDK for C++ version 1.11.712 or later.
