Broken Access Control Vulnerability in Keycloak by Red Hat
CVE-2025-14778

5.4MEDIUM

What is CVE-2025-14778?

A significant vulnerability has been identified in Keycloak, specifically within the UserManagedPermissionService related to the UMA Protection API. This flaw occurs when updating or deleting UMA policies tied to multiple resources, where the authorization check fails to properly validate ownership beyond the first resource listed. Consequently, an owner (Owner A) can exploit this flaw to alter shared policies and amend authorization rules for resources (e.g., RB) that belong to another user (Owner B), leading to unauthorized access and the potential for horizontal privilege escalation.
