PickleScan Vulnerability in Model Scanning by Sonatype
CVE-2025-1889
5.3MEDIUM
What is CVE-2025-1889?
The PickleScan tool, prior to version 0.0.22, is vulnerable to exploitation as it only scans standard pickle file extensions during its security assessments. An attacker can create a malicious model that incorporates a pickle file with a non-standard extension, which the tool fails to recognize as vulnerable. As a result, the inclusion of this compromised file may bypass security checks, allowing potential exploitation and risk to the integrity of applications relying on this scanning technology.
