What is CVE-2025-2017?

A vulnerability in Ashlar-Vellum Cobalt allows for remote code execution due to improper validation during the parsing of CO files. Attackers can exploit this flaw by delivering malicious CO files or links that, when accessed by the user, trigger the issue. The problem stems from insufficient checks on the length of user-provided data before it gets copied into a buffer, enabling attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected process.
