What is CVE-2025-20344?

A vulnerability exists in the backup restore functionality of Cisco Nexus Dashboard which could be exploited by an authenticated remote attacker. This flaw stems from inadequate validation of backup file contents, allowing an attacker with valid Administrator credentials to launch a path traversal attack. By restoring a maliciously crafted backup file, the attacker may obtain root privileges on the underlying shell of the affected device, potentially compromising the security and integrity of the entire system.
