Webhook Vulnerability in Versa Director SD-WAN Orchestration Platform
CVE-2025-23172
What is CVE-2025-23172?
The Versa Director SD-WAN orchestration platform features a Webhook capability that allows for sending notifications to external endpoints. Unfortunately, the 'Add Webhook' and 'Test Webhook' options can be misused by authenticated users to send specially crafted HTTP requests to localhost. This can result in executing commands under the versa user account, which possesses sudo privileges. Consequently, this vulnerability poses a significant risk of privilege escalation or even remote code execution, making it imperative for users to upgrade to the latest software versions as advised by Versa Networks.
