File Upload Vulnerability in CKAN Data Management System
CVE-2025-24372
What is CVE-2025-24372?
CKAN, an open-source data management system, is vulnerable to a file upload flaw that allows malicious users to submit crafted files that may execute arbitrary requests on the server. If these files are accessed by an administrator, they could result in unauthorized privilege escalation or other harmful actions. This issue primarily affects registered users who can upload files. To mitigate this risk, site maintainers are encouraged to apply the latest fixes available in CKAN 2.10.7 and 2.11.2, and consider configuring upload restrictions to limit the file types accepted.
