Unauthenticated API Request Flooding Vulnerability in OpenShift by Red Hat
CVE-2025-2586
7.5HIGH
Summary
A serious flaw exists in the OpenShift Lightspeed Service, where it is susceptible to unauthenticated API request flooding. This vulnerability allows attackers to exploit non-existent endpoints, which results in the inflation of metrics storage and processing. The continuous influx of requests can overwhelm system resources, resulting in increased disk usage and ultimately degrading the monitoring system's performance. Because no authentication is required, this poses a critical risk of CPU, RAM, and disk space exhaustion, endangering both the application and overall cluster stability.
