What is CVE-2025-26599?
An uninitialized pointer vulnerability has been identified in X.Org and Xwayland that arises in the compCheckRedirect() function. If this function fails to allocate the backing pixmap, it can lead to a BadAlloc error when compRedirectWindow() is called. This error occurs without proper validation of the window tree marked just prior, resulting in a state where validated data remains only partially initialized. Consequently, this can lead to potential stability issues and unexpected behavior within the graphics system.
