What is CVE-2025-27410?

The PwnDoc penetration test reporting application has a path traversal vulnerability in its backup restore functionality prior to version 1.2.0. This flaw allows an attacker to manipulate TAR entry names, potentially overwriting critical files on the system. If an attacker exploits this vulnerability, they could replace a JavaScript file and achieve Remote Code Execution as an administrator after a container restart. The privilege required to exploit this vulnerability includes the ability to create and update backups, making it predominantly a concern for administrators. Version 1.2.0 has been released to address this issue.
