Denial of Service and Data Exposure in vLLM by vLLM Project
CVE-2025-30202
What is CVE-2025-30202?
The vLLM inference engine is susceptible to denial of service and unintended data exposure through its use of ZeroMQ in multi-node setups. Specifically, versions from 0.5.2 to just before 0.8.5 expose an XPUB ZeroMQ socket that allows unauthorized clients to connect if network access is granted. This enables attackers to receive internal vLLM state information, which, while not immediately useful, could facilitate a denial of service condition by inundating the publisher with connections, overwhelming system resources. Users are urged to upgrade to version 0.8.5 for resolution.
