What is CVE-2025-34042?

An authenticated command injection vulnerability has been identified in the Beward N100 IP Camera firmware version M2.1.6.04C014. This vulnerability allows an attacker with access to the web interface to inject arbitrary system commands through the ServerName and TimeZone parameters on the servetest CGI page. The absence of proper input sanitization lets these commands be embedded into backend system calls directly, leading to potential remote code execution with elevated root privileges. This issue highlights the critical need for secure coding practices in firmware development to prevent unauthorized system access.

Affected Version(s)

N100 IP Camera M2.1.6.04C014

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
