What is CVE-2025-34071?

The identified vulnerability in GFI Kerio Control allows an attacker with administrative access to exploit the firmware upgrade feature. This vulnerability occurs because the system's upgrade mechanism permits the upload of unsigned .img files. Attackers can tamper with these files to embed malicious scripts, like those in upgrade.sh or disk image components. Since these modified images are neither authenticated nor validated for their integrity, once uploaded, they are executed by the system, granting the attacker root access and compromising the security of the environment.
