What is CVE-2025-34120?

An unauthenticated file download vulnerability is present in specific versions of LimeSurvey. The issue arises due to inadequate validation of serialized input at the admin backup endpoint, which leads to the exploitation of arbitrary file paths. Attackers can craft a payload to access sensitive files stored on the host system, including OS and configuration files, compromising the security of the application. This vulnerability allows unauthorized users to download files packaged in a ZIP archive without requiring authentication, posing serious security risks.
