What is CVE-2025-34153?
Hyland OnBase, specifically versions prior to 17.0.2.87, is susceptible to a vulnerability allowing unauthenticated remote code execution through insecure deserialization on its .NET Remoting TCP channel. The impacted service listens on TCP port 6031 and utilizes the URI endpoint TimerServer, implemented within the Hyland.Core.Timers.dll. This endpoint processes untrusted input via the .NET BinaryFormatter, which can be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM, potentially leading to severe security breaches.
Affected Version(s)
OnBase * < 17.0.2.87
OnBase 24.1
Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)
PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
