What is CVE-2025-34257?

Advantech WISE-DeviceOn Server versions before 5.4 contain a vulnerability within the /rmm/v1/action/defined endpoint, allowing attackers to exploit stored cross-site scripting (XSS). When authenticated users create tasks, the 'defined_name' value is retained and displayed on the Overview page without proper HTML sanitization. This oversight enables an attacker to inject malicious scripts, leading to potential session hijack and unauthorized actions executed in the context of users who access the compromised task.
