What is CVE-2025-37870?

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel related to display link training has been identified. When link training fails, the system attempts to disable the physical clock, but this assumption leads to a system hang during the enable_streams process. The hang occurs because the system tries to write to registers relying on a succeeding link training. The fix involves verifying link training success before proceeding, ensuring that if a failure is detected, the system reverts to a reference clock, maintaining operational stability and recoverability.
