Incorrect Mapping in Linux Kernel's ixgbe Affects Networking Performance
CVE-2025-39922
What is CVE-2025-39922?
A vulnerability in the ixgbe driver of the Linux kernel was identified, stemming from an improper mapping of variables used to define supported and advertised Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) link modes. The incorrect loop populates the ixgbe_lp_map with values intended for ixgbe_ls_map, resulting in a mismatch between their sizes and purposes. This discrepancy can lead to incorrect bit settings and potential out-of-bounds access, which may disrupt networking performance and integrity.
