What is CVE-2025-40107?

A vulnerability in the HI311X driver of the Linux kernel can result in a null pointer dereference when the device resumes from sleep mode. If the network interface is not enabled prior to resuming, the necessary workqueue, 'priv->wq', is not allocated. This can lead to system instability or crashes. The fix involves relocating the workqueue allocation to ensure it is initialized before use during device resume. Additionally, it incorporates enhanced error handling to prevent resource leaks if initialization fails.
