Denial-of-Service Vulnerability in libsoup HTTP Client Library
CVE-2025-4476

4.3MEDIUM

What is CVE-2025-4476?

A denial-of-service vulnerability exists within the libsoup HTTP client library, which can be triggered by a maliciously crafted 401 (Unauthorized) HTTP response. When a libsoup client interacts with an HTTP server that returns a malformed WWW-Authenticate header containing an unauthorized domain parameter, it may crash the client application. This vulnerability poses a risk as attackers can set up malicious servers to exploit it by misleading users into connecting to these harmful servers. Applications relying on the vulnerable version of libsoup are at risk of disruption due to this flaw.
