What is CVE-2025-4478?

A vulnerability exists in the GNOME Remote Desktop utilized by the Anaconda installer, which allows for denial of service. When a specially crafted RDP packet is processed, it can lead to a segmentation fault causing the service to crash. This issue emerges during pre-boot when the system attempts to handle the malformed packet, resulting from a NULL pointer dereference. Once affected, the system requires a reboot to restore functionality.
