Improper Access Control in Sandboxie Isolation Software by Sandboxie Plus
CVE-2025-46715
7.8HIGH
What is CVE-2025-46715?
The Sandboxie application, designed for isolating and securing applications on Windows NT-based systems, inherits a critical weakness in versions 1.3.0 through 1.15.11. The Api_GetSecureParam function fails to appropriately validate incoming pointers, allowing an attacker to supply kernel pointers, resulting in unauthorized memory writes. This vulnerability can be exploited by any user-level process, including those with low integrity, enabling them to manipulate sensitive registry entries. A patch has been introduced in version 1.15.12 to mitigate these risks.
