What is CVE-2025-48517?
A vulnerability exists in AMD's SEV firmware that allows a privileged user, utilizing a malicious hypervisor, to create a SEV-ES guest. This guest can mistakenly use an Address Space Identifier (ASID) designated for SEV-SNP guests. This flaw poses a significant risk as it may lead to a partial loss of confidentiality, allowing sensitive information to be exposed through improper access controls.
