What is CVE-2025-49136?

Listmonk, a self-hosted newsletter and mailing list manager, has a vulnerability affecting versions 4.0.0 through 5.0.1. The 'env' and 'expandenv' template functions, enabled by default in Sprig, pose a risk in multi-user installations. They allow non-super-admin users with permissions for campaigns or templates to exploit the '{{ env }}' template expression, potentially exposing sensitive environment variables. To safeguard against this risk, users are advised to upgrade to version 5.0.2.
