What is CVE-2025-49795?

A vulnerability exists in libxml2 that can be exploited when processing XPath XML expressions. By crafting a malicious XML input, an attacker can trigger a NULL pointer dereference, potentially leading to a denial of service as the application crashes when it encounters the improper input.
