Memory Access Vulnerability in riscv-boom SonicBOOM 1.2 Processor Implementation
CVE-2025-50897
4.3MEDIUM
What is CVE-2025-50897?
A flaw has been identified in the SonicBOOM 1.2 processor implementation where valid virtual-to-physical address translations with write permissions can trigger a Store/AMO access fault during store operations. This issue arises when the processor is in SV39 mode, despite having valid page table entries. The problem specifically manifests during transitions into virtual memory when attempting store operations in kernel memory, potentially leading to kernel panics or a denial of service in systems utilizing the affected processor.
