Heap-based Buffer Overflow in Ashlar-Vellum Cobalt and Related Products
CVE-2025-52584
What is CVE-2025-52584?
In several Ashlar-Vellum applications, including Cobalt, Xenon, Argon, Lithium, and Cobalt Share, versions released prior to 12.6.1204.204, there is an inadequacy in the validation of user-supplied data during the parsing of XE files. This flaw creates a potential for a heap-based buffer overflow, enabling attackers to exploit the vulnerability and execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process, thereby compromising the security and integrity of the applications.
