What is CVE-2025-5315?

A security issue has been identified in GitLab CE/EE that allows authenticated users with Guest role permissions to perform unauthorized actions. By sending specially crafted API requests, these users can bypass UI-imposed role restrictions, enabling them to add child items to incident work items. This vulnerability is present in all versions from 17.2 before 17.11.5, 18.0 before 18.0.3, and 18.1 before 18.1.1.
