What is CVE-2025-53557?

A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability was identified in the MFER parsing functionality of libbiosig, versions 3.9.0 and the Master Branch (35a819fa). This flaw allows an attacker to craft a malicious MFER file that can cause arbitrary code execution when processed. Exploitation of this vulnerability can result in severe security implications, where an attacker may be able to execute arbitrary code on the affected system.
