What is CVE-2025-54480?
A stack-based buffer overflow has been identified in the MFER parsing functionality of the libbiosig library, which allows for arbitrary code execution. The vulnerability arises when a specially crafted MFER file is processed, leading to the exploitation of the code on line 8719 of biosig.c in the master branch. Attackers can leverage this flaw by providing a malicious file that contains a corrupted MFER tag, resulting in improper length handling and potential unauthorized code execution.
