What is CVE-2025-54488?

A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the MFER parsing mechanism of libbiosig version 3.9.0 and the latest Master Branch (commit 35a819fa). This flaw allows an attacker to exploit a specially crafted MFER file, potentially resulting in arbitrary code execution on the affected system. This issue occurs specifically when processing a particular tag, where improper length handling can lead to an overflow condition.
