Hidden Commit Injection Vulnerability in GitProxy by FINOS
CVE-2025-54586
6.5MEDIUM
What is CVE-2025-54586?
In GitProxy versions up to 1.19.1, attackers can exploit a vulnerability that allows them to inject hidden commits into packs sent to GitHub. These extra commits are not visible in the repository's branch history, yet they can be accessed via their direct commit URLs. This unique attack vector enables the exfiltration of sensitive data while leaving no trace in the branch view, thereby compromising the confidentiality of the affected repositories. This issue has been addressed in GitProxy version 1.19.2.
