What is CVE-2025-54794?
Claude Code, an agentic coding tool, exhibits a path validation vulnerability in versions prior to 0.2.111. This flaw utilizes prefix matching instead of canonical path comparison, enabling potential bypass of directory restrictions. The vulnerability allows malicious actors to access files outside the current working directory (CWD) if they can set up a directory with a matching prefix and introduce untrusted content into a Claude Code context window. To address this flaw, users are advised to upgrade to version 0.2.111 or later.
