FreshRSS, a widely-used self-hosted RSS aggregator, has a security flaw that allows unprivileged attackers to create new admin users if registration is enabled. This vulnerability arises from improper handling of a hidden form field used within the user management admin page, allowing unauthorized access to administrative features. The issue was resolved in version 1.27.0. Users are strongly advised to update their installations to safeguard against potential exploits.
