Undefined Behavior in ImageMagick Cloning Callback
CVE-2025-55160
What is CVE-2025-55160?
ImageMagick, a widely-used open-source software for image manipulation, has a vulnerability that arises from a function-type-mismatch during the cloning callback of a splay tree. This can lead to undefined behavior, resulting in a deterministic abort when using undefined behavior sanitizer (UBSan), which may allow for denial of service attacks in those specific builds. Fortunately, this vulnerability has been addressed in the latest versions, specifically 6.9.13-27 and 7.1.2-1, ensuring users can mitigate potential security risks.
